Transfer Ownership
The one action in a workspace that the person taking it cannot reverse for you. Afterwards you are an Admin, and only the new owner can transfer it back.
The decision inside it
It earns its friction
“This action cannot be undone” is the sentence people have learned to click past. Three lines in the second person are not, and typing the workspace name is the only confirmation that cannot be completed by muscle memory.
Installation
How you get it
One command. The CLI writes the file into components/ui/ and installs what it needs.
npx shadcn@latest add https://layropro.com/r/transfer-ownershipPro components need the CLI token from your account page. Put it in your environment as LAYRO_KEY and use the namespaced form.
API
“Copy prompt” above puts a full brief on your clipboard — install command, dependencies, props, and the mistakes an assistant usually makes with this component.
Props
Read from the component’s own TypeScript interface when the site is built, so this table cannot drift from the file you install.
| Prop | Type | Notes |
|---|---|---|
workspaceName | string | The workspace being given away. Typed by the user to arm the button. |
candidates | TransferCandidate[] | Who may receive it. Owners are never in this list. |
title | string | — |
demotedTo | string | What you become afterwards. Default "Admin". |
onTransfer | (id: string, candidate: TransferCandidate) => void | — |
allowReset | boolean | Hide the "Reset the demo" affordance in a real app. |
