Only the last three thoughts are on screen, so the block never grows while it works and the answer below does not jump with every step. Finished, it stays in the thread as a record instead of vanishing when the answer starts.
Installation
How you get it
Paste this into Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or any coding agent. It installs the file and uses it as it is, instead of writing a new one.
Use Layro's Thinking Shimmer for this.
Install it: npx shadcn@latest add @layro/thinking-shimmer
(the @layro registry is set up in components.json, with LAYRO_KEY in .env.local)
Import it from @/components/ui/thinking-shimmer.

When to use it
Use Thinking Shimmer while a model reasons: append each thought as it streams, then set done to fold it into a receipt. For the answer itself use Token Stream.
