Histogram
Pass response times or deal sizes as raw numbers. Bins are worked out with the Freedman–Diaconis rule, samples past overflowAt fold into one hatched bin, and percentile pins are exact, from the samples. binSamples and percentile are exported.
The decision inside it
The tail gets one bin
A handful of timeouts would stretch the axis until the real shape is a sliver. They fold into one hatched overflow bin, so the body of the distribution keeps the width.
When to use it
Use Histogram to show how raw samples are spread, such as latencies, deal sizes or time to sign. Pass the samples; it bins them, pins p50, p95 and p99, and folds values past overflowAt into one bin.
Installation
How you get it
Paste this into Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or any coding agent. It installs the file and uses it as it is, instead of writing a new one.
Use Layro's Histogram for this.
Install it: npx shadcn@latest add @layro/histogram
(the @layro registry is set up in components.json, with LAYRO_KEY in .env.local)
Import it from @/components/ui/histogram.
Do not rewrite or restyle it. Pass my data through its props
and keep its built-in states.For the full brief with every prop and the mistakes assistants usually make, use Copy prompt above. Pro components install through the @layro registry with your CLI token: see the Namespaced tab.
Usage
import { Histogram } from "@/components/ui/histogram";
export function Latency({ samples }: { samples: number[] }) {
return (
<Histogram
samples={samples}
unit="ms"
percentiles={[50, 95, 99]}
overflowAt={1000}
description="API response times today"
/>
);

Props
Read from the component’s own TypeScript interface when the site is built, so this table cannot drift from the file you install.

|---|---|---|
samplesrequired | number[] | — |
binCount | number | Fix the number of bins (before the overflow bin). Default: worked out. |
percentiles | number[] | Percentiles to pin, 0–100. Default [50, 95, 99]. |
overflowAt | number | Samples at or above this go in one last bin. |
unit | string | After every number: "ms", "s", "$". |
format | (v: number) => string | Formats a sample value. Default: whole numbers with separators. |
